The United States remains the strongest market for connected cars, followed by China and Europe. These three markets accounted for nearly 80% of global connected car sales in 2022. Although the proportion of connected cars in Japan is small, its penetration is growing the fastest.

According to the report, car companies are currently mainly equipped with 4G connection services, accounting for 95%. 5G is still a niche market, only applicable to Ford FMuay 150 Lightning, Cadillac LYRIQ, Mercedes-Benz EQS, Audi e-tron GT, BMW iX and Great Wall Harvard HG.

When it comes to brands, Volkswagen tops the list with 11.7%, followed by Toyota and GM. The top five auto groups accounted for nearly half of all connected cars sold in 2022. Tesla entered the top ten list for the first time.
