Although the investment bank, which expects iPhone to have revenue of $50.3 billion in the second quarter, is up 2 per cent from previous expectations, it is still below the $50.57 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year and will still decline from a year earlier.

In terms of shipments, the investment bank expects 54.5 million units to be down 3% from a year earlier, while revenue is down only 1%, thanks to a rise in average selling prices. Investment banks expect the average selling price of the iPhone to rise 1% in the second quarter to $922 (currently about 6389 yuan) as more consumers choose the high-end version.

For Apple's second quarter, the investment bank, which expects iPhone to ship 5450 million units, expects overall revenue of $91.9 billion (currently about 636.867 billion yuan) and earnings per share of $1.41, down from a year earlier. In the same period in its last fiscal year, Apple earned more than $1.50 per share on revenue of $97.278 billion.
