CTOnews.com, April 27 (Xinhua)-- Amazon recently announced the suspension of all health and fitness bracelets under the "Halo" brand, according to Bloomberg. Amazon first launched its first Halo bracelet in August 2020, positioning it as a low-end competitor to Apple's Apple Watch.
The original Halo bracelet does not have a dial and the built-in sensors include an accelerometer, a temperature sensor, a heart rate monitor, two microphones and a LED indicator.
The bracelet is available for $99 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about RMB 686), there is no GPS, WiFi, cellular connection or Alexa integration, and some features need to be used through Amazon Prime subscriptions.
Amazon then launched Halo View, Halo Band, Halo Rise and a variety of accessories.
Amazon announced that the Halo bracelet will no longer be supported as of July 31, 2023, and all customers who have placed orders in the past 12 months can apply for a refund. Amazon also urged existing Halo users to download any data they want to keep from the app by August 1.
