CTOnews.com, April 27 (Xinhua)-- all four Apple iPhone 15 / Pro models are expected to have USB-C ports instead of Lightning ports, so some Apple accessories will also use USB-C ports, according to MacRumors. ShrimpApplePro, the whistleblower, tweeted that EarPods wired headphones with USB-C connectors had been mass-produced and had previously said Foxconn was the supplier of the headphones.

The new EarPods headset will connect directly to the USB-C port on the iPhone 15 / Pro model without the need for an adapter. Apple wired headphones currently offer Lightning connectors or 3.5mm headphone jacks, both of which are priced at $19 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about RMB132, Bank of China RMB149).

EarPods has become less popular since Apple released AirPods wireless headphones in 2016 and removed the 3.5mm headphone Jack on the iPhone, but they are still a more affordable option for customers. EarPods also offers a simple plug-and-play wired listening experience with a built-in remote control that eliminates the need for charging or Bluetooth pairing.

Apple is expected to release the iPhone 15 series of phones in September, and new EarPods wired headphones are expected to be launched at the same time. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has previously claimed that other accessories such as AirPods charging boxes, MagSafe battery packs and Miaoku keyboard / trackpad / mouse three-piece sets will also be converted to USB-C ports in the future.
