CTOnews.com previously reported that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 uses a brand new water drop hinge design, which is expected to be lighter and thinner than the previous generation. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 fuselage weighs 250g, which is 13g less than the Z Fold4. The thickness of the folded 14.2mm is 13.4mm, which is slightly smaller than that of Fold 4.

From the rendering picture, the proportion of the outer screen is very high, equipped with Infinity-O drilling forward, the right two corners are more rounded, should be able to improve the grip feel.

Instead of the traditional U-shaped hinge, Galaxy Z Fold 5 will adopt a new water drop hinge design. When the screen is folded, there is no gap contact between the two sides, and the folding phone can be made thinner. Considering the thickness and internal space, Samsung decided not to add S Pen to the new collapsible smartphone.
