Yang Xueliang, senior vice president of Zhejiang Geely Holdings Group, commented on the situation that the sales of extreme krypton cars surpassed that of Xilai: "whether it is polar krypton or Weilai, there must always be a Chinese luxury pure electric brand that can play BBA."

Although in the domestic market, the traditional luxury car brand "BBA" still maintains a strong dominance. However, with the development of new energy vehicles, the gap between "BBA" and domestic car brands is narrowing. Especially in the new energy vehicle market, many car brands, such as extreme krypton, Ultimate, ideal and so on, have good market sales.

According to previous reports from CTOnews.com, the global luxury car market sold 3.09 million vehicles in 2022, an increase of about 6 per cent from 2021. However, the traditional luxury car market as a whole fell by about 4%, while the new energy luxury car market grew 49% from a year earlier.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi, which once accounted for 75 per cent of China's luxury car market, all saw sales decline in 2022, by 0.9 per cent, 6.4 per cent and 9.3 per cent, respectively.
