CTOnews.com, May 4 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- TikTok announced on Wednesday a product that allows advertisers to launch ads along with publishers' quality content, and brands including Buzzfeed, DotDash Meredith, NBCUniversal, UFC and WWE will be the first to try the product called Pulse Premiere.

Simply put, TikTok's new product allows authors to place ads behind their content, which offers creators a 50 per cent cut, the equivalent of an evolutionary version of TikTok's "Pulse" project.

CTOnews.com inquiries learned that Pulse plans to allow marketers to place their brands (ads) next to the top 4 per cent of quality content on the platform. Relatively speaking, Pulse will only be available to the top creators, but the new product will allow participating publishers to place ads after all posts.

Ray Cao, global head of commercialization, product strategy and operations for TikTok, points out that TikTok wants to support publishers while creating new business opportunities for its own platform. As of March this year, TikTok had 150 million monthly active users in the United States, up from 100 million in 2020.
