CTOnews.com, May 7 (Xinhua)-- A 31-year-old senior Google software engineer jumped from the 14th floor of Google's headquarters in Chelsea, New York, last Thursday night and died, according to local media Nypost. CTOnews.com noted that this is the second Google employee suicide in a few months.

Police said that at around 11:30 that night, they received several police calls saying that there was an unconscious person lying on 15th Street near a building. After the police arrived at the scene, they found that the man was unconscious and immediately took him to Bellevue Hospital, but he still died.

Police found handprints on the guardrail of the 14th floor platform at the scene and inferred that the man jumped from there. At present, the police did not find any suicide note or video of jumping from a building. The identity of the man has not yet been disclosed.

The suicide occurred after Google employee Jacob Pratt committed suicide in February, when Pratt hanged himself in an apartment in Chelsea. He was 33 years old and also worked at Google headquarters.
