CTOnews.com, May 8, BYD is accelerating the layout of its overseas supply chain, especially in Southeast Asia.

According to the Vietnam News Agency, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Chen Honghe met with BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu in Hanoi on the afternoon of the 5th to hold talks on electric vehicles. Wang Chuanfu said that BYD hopes to continue to expand the scale of manufacturing and investment in Fushou province, and promised to further improve technology to achieve sustainable development.

Wang Chuanfu said BYD will use the best technology to expand into the manufacturing and assembly of electric vehicles, serving the Vietnamese market and exporting to Southeast Asia. He expressed the hope that the local government will facilitate the early completion of the investment license and put the electric vehicle manufacturing and assembly project into operation as soon as possible.

Tuyuan Unsplash earlier this year, it was reported that BYD planned to invest more than $250 million (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 1.727 billion yuan) to build a new energy car parts factory in Vietnam. At that time, negotiations were under way for a site, and construction is expected to start this year.

Earlier, Philippine Trade Department officials said in February that the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia were competing to attract BYD to build an electric car assembly plant there.
