CTOnews.com, May 9, recently, there are rumors that Apple asked Foxconn to transfer MacBook and iPad capacity from its Chengdu plant to Vietnam, which attracted outside attention. In response, Foxconn Chairman Liu Yangwei recently went to Chengdu to inspect the plant and met with employees and Sichuan Provincial Party Secretary Wang Xiaohui to make it clear that "Foxconn does not want to move out of Chengdu" and will continue to develop high-tech industries there.

According to CTOnews.com inquiry public information, Foxconn Chengdu plant is one of Apple's important production bases, mainly responsible for iPad and MacBook and other products OEM. In response to the hot sales of iPad, Foxconn's Chengdu plant plans to build 52 production lines with an annual production capacity of 40 million units.

Liu Yangwei said that Foxconn attaches great importance to the Chengdu market and hopes that Chengdu will become a very important base in western China, not only to provide quality products and services to customers such as Apple, but also to provide employees with better living conditions and development space. He also said that Foxconn will continue to increase its investment in Sichuan and cooperate with the local government and all sectors of society to promote industrial upgrading and innovative development.

Liu Yangwei also revealed that Foxconn is communicating with the Chengdu municipal government about building a new electronic car project.
