Starting from this summer vacation, students' train tickets can be checked online, and China Train 12306 will connect with the letter network.
Thank CTOnews.com netizens Rimi Ishihara for the delivery of the clue to happiness! CTOnews.com, May 9 (Xinhua) A few days ago, netizens left messages reflecting that at a time when train tickets are fully electronic, college students' train tickets still use the traditional student ID card to verify their identity, which is a waste of resources, according to the official news of the Chinese government website. It is hoped that this service will be improved and train student tickets will be verified by more intelligent electronic means.
In response, the National Railway Group replied that ordinary college students who intend to connect with the China higher Education Student Information Network through China Train 12306 system to complete electronic registration of student status in each academic year on time can carry out online verification of students' preferential qualifications through China Train 12306's mobile phone client, which is implemented before the summer holidays in ordinary colleges and universities.
The full reply to CTOnews.com is as follows:
The national railway attaches great importance to the sale of student tickets and, together with the Ministry of Education and other departments, earnestly do a good job in the verification of students' preferential qualifications, so as to ensure that the work of selling student tickets is in accordance with the law, convenient and fast, and maximize the convenience of the majority of students to travel.
Since 2022, in view of the inconvenient verification of students' preferential qualifications, the National Railway Group has communicated and docked with the Ministry of Education many times on issues related to the online verification of college students' train ticket preferential qualifications, and held special meetings to study, and formulated the "implementation Plan for online Verification of students' preferential qualifications". Ordinary college students who intend to connect with the China higher Education Student Information Network through the China Train 12306 system and complete the electronic registration of student status in each academic year on time can carry out online verification of students' preferential qualifications through China Train 12306's mobile phone client.
In March 2023, the National Railway Group and the Ministry of Education jointly held a promotion meeting for the online verification and implementation of students' preferential qualifications, which clearly defined the goal of "planning to be implemented after the May Day holiday this year to ensure students' online application before buying tickets during the summer vacation". Make arrangements for the implementation of all preparatory work.
At present, the preparatory work is progressing smoothly, and the documents on further facilitating the purchase of preferential train tickets by students in ordinary colleges and universities are going through the issuance procedures. China Train 12306's system function research and development and joint survey and joint test with the China higher Education Student Information Network have been completed, and relevant preparatory work is under way, which can be implemented before the summer holidays in ordinary colleges and universities.
