The preview version of the Windows LAPS local administrator password scheme already supports Microsoft Intune and Azure AD

CTOnews.com, May 10 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- Microsoft announced the availability of the Windows LAPS (Local Administrator Password Solution, local administrator password solution) feature, which is available on Windows 10, Windows 11, and servers, through Tuesday patch.

However, there are some problems, and Microsoft has confirmed interoperability problems with older versions of LAPS. When the old version of LAPS (MSI package) is installed on computers that upgrade the latest "Tuesday patch", both the old version and the new version of Windows LAPS will be interrupted, and Microsoft has since fixed these problems with the latest Windows 11 non-secure preview update, which works with Windows 11 version 21H2 (KB5025298) and Windows 11 version 22H2 (KB5025305).

Now, Microsoft is reminding IT administrators and system administrators that the new Windows LAPS is now available on Microsoft Intune, provides a public preview, and supports use on Azure Active Directory (AD).

"We are now using Windows LAPS management in Microsoft Intune to extend the solution to the cloud and now provide a public preview version that supports Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). Some new features include rich policy management, automatic rotation, dedicated event logging, new PowerShell modules, hybrid connection support, and so on."
