CTOnews.com, May 12 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- compared with 2022, shipments of the Indian wearable device market increased by 80.9% in the first quarter of 2023.

According to a report by IDC, India shipped more than 25.1 million smart wearable devices from January to March 2023-a year-on-year increase, but flat on a month-on-month basis, thanks to a robust Q4 performance in 2022.

Shipments of smartwatches in India surged nearly 180 per cent to 10.4 million units, with basic smartwatches accounting for 98 per cent of the market segment, while the average price of smartwatches fell 42.0 per cent year-on-year to $29.2 (CTOnews.com Note: about RMB203m) ($50.40 in the same period last year and about Rmb350 today). Compared with last year, headphone shipments increased by 48.5% to nearly 14.7 million, of which TWS true wireless headphones accounted for nearly 64%, with the average selling price rising from $12.20 (currently about 85 yuan) to $20.4 (currently about 142 yuan).

Only shipments of wristband wearable devices fell by nearly 87 per cent-from 259000 to just 34300.

According to IDC, boAt topped the list with 25.6 per cent, with shipments more than doubling each year; Boltt ranked second with 12.4 per cent of the wearable market share, followed by Noise with 11.9 per cent of Boult Audio and 9.3 per cent of OnePlus (including OnePlus) with 4.7 per cent.
