CTOnews.com, May 13 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- at the I / O 2023 developer conference, Google announced Wear OS 4, which will be launched later this year, and promised a better watch application suite, improved battery management and better accessibility, as well as improved TTS input.

Wear OS 4 improves integration with Google Home to provide more control options for connected devices. Google has also confirmed more features in the Google Workspace, Gmail and Google Calendar applications, giving users access to two Workplace favorites from Wear OS 4 watches, quick responses to Gmail emails, and responses to calendar events and update tasks.

Third-party app WhatsApp has also arrived, offering the first watch app with end-to-end encryption, voice response and device calls; Spotify has brought new tiles to make it easier to access your favorite music and podcasts; Peloton is adding continuous exercise tiles to its Wear OS 4 app Samsung and Google have also worked together to develop a new dial format that helps developers create dials and reduce the burden on battery life.

Another major addition to Wear OS 4 is the ability to back up and restore your watch without restoring factory settings.

Google has not yet announced the exact release date of the official version of the Wear OS 4, and Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 watches and Google Pixel watch 2 are expected to be the first to carry the Wear OS 4.
