Mingyang Intelligence signed a contract for the Philippine wind power project, and Chinese turbines entered the market for the first time.

CTOnews.com, May 14, Mingyang Smart Energy Group Co., Ltd. and Singapore renewable energy company Vena Energy signed a contract in Manila for the largest wind power project in the Philippines-Talim 212.5 MW onshore wind power project and Sembrano 93.75 MW onshore wind power project. This contract is the first time that the Philippines has purchased Chinese wind turbine products, marking the official entry of Chinese wind turbines into the Philippine market.

Mingyang Intelligent will provide 49 MySE 6.25172 wind turbines for the two projects, as well as transport, hoisting, commissioning, operation and long-term operation and maintenance services. The project is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2024.

In recent years, the Philippines has experienced a serious power shortage and high power costs. in order to solve the problem of power shortage, the Philippine government has increased its support for renewable energy, and plans to achieve 50% of the power structure by 2040, of which wind power is expected to be installed at about 11.8GW.
