Nintendo's "tears of the Kingdom" is a great success, and Yingji Aokuma wants to do the "Legend of Zelda" animated films.

CTOnews.com May 14, "Legend of Zelda: tears of the Kingdom" was officially released on May 12 and received full praise from most review media immediately before its release.

Meanwhile, the newly released Super Mario Brothers Movie has grossed more than $1.164 billion at the box office, making it the No. 1 animated film so far in 2023 and the second of all films in 2023, making it a huge success for Nintendo.

In an interview with foreign media Polygon, Eiji Aokuma, producer of Legend of Zelda: tears of the Kingdom, and game director Hidemasa Fujimaro revealed that Aokuma was interested in making Zelda animated films, and he was not alone. But Fujita also pointed out that the voices of fans are also important if you want to make Zelda movies.

It is worth mentioning that the "Legend of Zelda" animated film was being produced as early as January this year, but Nintendo has not responded so far.

Foreign media Giant Freakin Robot revealed at the time that reliable sources showed that the animated film adapted from the Legend of Zelda was also produced by Illumination (Lighting Entertainment), the development studio behind the Legend of Zelda and the Mario Brothers Movie, which will also be the first adaptation of the Legend of Zelda game series.

Assuming it eventually makes it to the big screen, this will be the first film adaptation of the series. But in fact, this is not the first work to be adapted into animation. Nintendo released an animation for the Zelda series IP as early as 1989, but that animation was not popular, and it ended hastily with only 13 episodes.
