CTOnews.com, May 14 (Xinhua) Tesla has stepped up monitoring of drivers to prevent distracted driving and fatigue driving, regardless of whether the vehicle uses the autopilot function or not.

Tesla installed a camera facing the driver in the car, which can judge the driver's attention and status by eye movement and the use of mobile phones. If the driver is found to have unsafe behavior, Tesla will disable the Autopilot function and remind the driver to concentrate on driving.

According to hacker Greentheonly, Tesla is upgrading his monitoring system, adding some new indicators, such as the number of drivers yawning, the number and duration of blinking, and sitting posture, to calculate whether they show signs of fatigue. These improvements apply not only to the use of Autopilot functions, but also to situations where the vehicle is completely controlled by the driver, with the aim of ensuring driving safety in all situations.

At present, these improvements have not been officially launched, probably because Tesla is still determining which behaviors will make drivers unsuitable for driving.
