CTOnews.com, May 14 (Xinhua) A strange problem has been reported by Facebook users. The system automatically sends friend requests to other strangers who have checked their profiles, and this Bug has been officially fixed by Meta.

"We have fixed an error related to recent app updates that caused some Facebook friend requests to be sent incorrectly," a Meta spokesman told The Daily Beast on Friday. "We have prevented this from happening and we apologize for any inconvenience that may have been caused."

Earlier on Friday, many Facebook users complained about massive privacy leaks on social media, and some tried to click on a user to block it, only to send a friend request, which did sound ridiculous.

According to CTOnews.com, Facebook's parent company, Meta, is in the midst of mass layoffs, cutting at least 13% and laying off more than 11000 people. Last month, Facebook malfunctioned, overcharging customers and forcing the company to temporarily suspend all advertising.
