At present, only nearly 100 people have been transferred to Cainiao Group, and the department has been assigned to Cainiao CTO's technical team. Nearly 200 people have been laid off, accounting for about 70% of layoffs.

In response, Ali Yun said in response to Sina Finance that "the news about 70% layoffs in the self-driving business of Ali Dharma House is not true. Due to business adjustment, the self-driving business of Dharma House has been transferred to Cainiao Group, and some personnel have been transferred to Cainiao. At the same time, a considerable number of personnel will enter Ali's other businesses, and there is no talk of 70% layoffs."

However, for the specific proportion of abolition, Aliyun did not explain. According to the Dharma Institute's website, Autonomous driving lab's business scope covers self-driving core technologies such as machine learning, integrated software and hardware design, perception / decision planning / positioning, etc. The laboratory is headed by Shen Jiaxiang, a senior researcher of Alibaba Group, who joined Ali in 2008.
