CTOnews.com May 16 news, the China Banking Insurance Regulatory Commission recently issued a reply on the follow-up matters of the reorganization of Yi'an property Insurance Co., Ltd., approved the change of the company's name from "Yi'an property Insurance Co., Ltd." to "Shenzhen BYD property Insurance Co., Ltd." and approved Zhou Yalin's qualification as chairman of Shenzhen BYD property Insurance Co., Ltd.

CTOnews.com has previously reported that the Banco Insurance Regulatory Commission approved on May 6 that BYD Automotive Industry Co., Ltd., a holding subsidiary of BYD, would transfer 100% of Yi'an property Insurance. According to public information, Zhou Yalin is vice president and chief financial officer of BYD.

Yi'an property Insurance is one of the four professional Internet insurance companies in China. It was approved to start business on February 16, 2016, with a registered capital of 1 billion yuan, registered in Shenzhen. Due to insufficient solvency and other reasons, on July 17, 2020, the Bancassurance Regulatory Commission announced that it would take over Yi'an property Insurance for a period of one year. On June 29, 2022, the Bancassurance Regulatory Commission approved the bankruptcy reorganization of Yi'an property Insurance. On July 8, Yi'an property Insurance filed for bankruptcy reorganization with the Beijing Financial Court on the grounds that it was unable to pay off its maturing debts and obviously lacked solvency.
