CTOnews.com, May 17 (Xinhua)-- the new game "Pac-Man 99" in the classic game "Pac-Man" series landed on the Switch platform on April 8 last year and became the exclusive game for Switch Online members. However, Nintendo recently announced that the game will be removed from eShop on October 8 this year and all online features will be terminated.

According to Nintendo's announcement, the game's paid DLC-- includes three offline modes and a variety of custom themes-you can still play after the game is off the shelves. However, all online features, including Pac-Man 99, the main mode of the game, will stop running.

CTOnews.com attached the following schedule for the removal of the game:

August 8: the ability to purchase custom themes will be removed

September 8: the option to purchase a Pac-Man 99 luxury bag or unlock DLC in Pac-Man 99 mode will be removed

October 8: the main game and free custom theme will be removed from eShop and the online service will end.

Nintendo said that although the game will be suspended and removed from eShop on October 8, purchased content can still be re-downloaded after that date.

Pac-Man 99 is the second massively multiplayer online game for Nintendo Switch online members after Tetris 99, which was launched in February 2019. At present, "Tetris 99" is still active and there is no known suspension plan.
