CTOnews.com May 18, Porsche recently announced a partnership with Apple, becoming the second electric vehicle manufacturer to officially deploy Apple Maps EV Routing.

At the WWDC 2020 developer conference, Apple announced for the first time that it would support EV Routing in Apple Maps and revealed that it was working with Ford and BMW.

Ford was the first to carry this feature in its Mustang Mach-E model launched last year, but BMW has so far not announced any move in this regard.

Porsche announced the feature in a press release, and the translation section of CTOnews.com reads as follows:

Each Taycan is equipped with a Porsche Charging Planner that optimizes parking based on the expected charging status (SOC) on arrival, traffic conditions and your average speed.

Drivers can interact with the vehicle in many ways, such as Apple Maps EV Route, and have more choices when configuring the journey.

CTOnews.com Note: when a Porsche owner turns on Apple Maps EV Routing and your iPhone is connected to the CarPlay, Apple Maps will track the power of your car and provide detailed navigation directions for road travel. This includes whether you need to stop to recharge and the charging time. It will also show your estimated cost when you arrive at your destination.
