Apple iPhone "Tap to Pay" function extends to Australia
CTOnews.com May 18, Apple announced the launch of Tap to Pay on iPhone (Touch payment) in Australia, allowing independent sellers, small merchants and large retailers in the region to use iPhone as a payment terminal.
Tap to Pay on iPhone can be used in iOS 15.4 and later (CTOnews.com Note: iPhone XS or newer phone models) to allow merchants to accept Apple Pay and other contact-free payments using iPhone and iOS App that support partners. With this service, users using supported iPhone devices can securely accept contactless payments and NFC-enabled Apple Pay credentials. With Tap to Pay on iPhone, merchants can accept contactless payments without using additional hardware.
Tap to Pay on iPhone uses NFC technology to securely verify contactless payments, and this feature also supports PIN input, including accessibility options.
