The merger is expected to be completed in the second half of 2023.

EMagin has been committed to the research and development of Micro OLED technology for many years, and is the leader of Micro OLED display industry in the United States. Its products are mainly used in high-resolution AR / VR devices, covering consumer, military, medical and industrial applications.

Industry insiders point out that SDC's acquisition of eMagin is to strengthen the development of RGB OLEDoS technology. In the short term, Samsung shows that it will continue to use WOLED+CF technology and will continue to aim to develop RGB OLEDoS in the long term, aiming to supply display screens to Apple's MR devices. As a kind of near-eye display device, MR equipment has high requirements for the picture quality and technology of the display screen.
