CTOnews.com, May 19, according to South Korean media Sedaily, Samsung Electronics said at the Internet of things Technology and Business Forum held in Seoul that the self-driving technology developed by its Samsung Institute of Advanced Technology (SAIT) was close to "level 4" and completed the 200km road from Suwon to Jiangling in October last year.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that an industry insider said that SAIT has been studying the research and development of self-driving technology for more than five years since it received a temporary self-driving license from South Korean regulators in 2017, overcoming many problems such as driving on ramps, identifying special vehicles and automatically changing lanes.

Samsung has already mass-produced level 2 autopilot related parts and provides mature solutions for level 3 autopilot, while SAIT will further commercialize level 4 autopilot technology.
