1.7 billion head, new study modifies Tyrannosaurus Rex estimate
CTOnews.com, May 19 (Xinhua) scientists had previously agreed on the number of Tyrannosaurus Rex at 2.5 billion, but a team led by evolutionary ecologist Eva Griebeler recently released a report estimating that there were only 1.7 billion Tyrannosaurus rex in Earth's history.
In a report published in Science in April 2021, Marshall reported that between 65.5 million and 6800 million years ago, Tyrannosaurus Rex survived 2.5 billion people on Earth.
The latest paper, published in Palaeontology on April 18 this year, points out that the estimated number of survivors is 1.7 billion.

Eva Griebeler, author of the paper, told Live Science that her new model took into account Tyrannosaurus Rex information ignored by the original authors, resulting in a reduction in the number.
Griebeler believes that the model created by the Marshall team is biased, showing that there are 19000 individuals in each Tyrannosaurus Rex generation, compared with only about 90000 generations, which means that the maximum number of Tyrannosaurus rex is 1.7 billion.
