CTOnews.com, May 21 (Xinhua)-- Quanta computer, Apple's assembly plant, is preparing for Apple's new MacBook, according to Morgan Stanley research.

Eric Woodlin, an analyst at Morgan Stanley, said Quanta expects a high single-digit percentage increase in the number of laptops it assembled in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the first quarter. He believes that this growth is partly driven by the new MacBook.

Bloomberg's Mark Goolman also said last month that Apple will launch the long-rumored 15-inch MacBook Air on the WWDC, as well as the much-anticipated hybrid reality show.

Guo Mingyi, an Apple supply chain analyst, said the first 15-inch MacBook Air will carry M2 chips. Apart from the larger size, the external design of the laptop does not seem to have changed.

Apple launched the latest 13-inch MacBook Air on WWDC last year, with a M2 chip, a 1080p camera, MagSafe 3 charging ports, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, 3.5mm headphone jacks, a smart keyboard with Touch ID and a Force Touch trackpad, starting at $1199 (CTOnews.com Note: bank of China starts at 9499 yuan).

It is unclear whether Apple will unveil other models at next month's WWDC conference, following news that new 13-inch MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro models with M3 chips are not expected to be released until later this year or next, while 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro updated the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips just three months ago.
