Nvidia teamed up with Rolls-Royce to introduce quantum computing into aero-engine design

CTOnews.com May 22, at the ISC supercomputing conference, Nvidia, Rolls-Royce and Israeli quantum computing software developer Classiq jointly announced the latest quantum computing breakthrough technology, which can improve the efficiency of aero-engines in an all-round way.

Nvidia said its quantum computing platform designed the world's largest computational fluid dynamics quantum computing circuit. Rolls-Royce plans to use this new circuit to model aero-engine design using classical and quantum computing methods in simulations. Rolls-Royce points out that the application of quantum computing to aero-engine design will help speed up the process and complete more complex calculations. Rolls-Royce used partner Classiq's synthesis engine design software and then simulated it with the Nvidia A100 GPU.
