Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Xiao Zhan cut, South China Daniel Wu's clue delivery! CTOnews.com May 25 news, Jibang Consulting TrendForce pointed out in its latest report that Apple's upcoming first hybrid reality (MR) headset is mainly aimed at developers, and may not ship more than 100000 units this year.

Jibang Consulting said that there are many factors that limit this year's sales, including the high price, the difficulty of production, the initial limited to developers, and so on.

The original text of the CTOnews.com translation report is as follows:

While Apple's headline display is likely to stimulate some new demand in the AR / VR product category, the high price of the device, believed to be more than $3000, poses a major obstacle to attracting consumers to buy.

Apple told suppliers in January 2022 that it expected to sell 7-10 million units in the first year of the first model; then Apple lowered it to 3 million.

Guo Mingyi said in August last year that no more than 1.5 million units would be shipped in 2023; Mark Goolman of Bloomberg said that the number of units shipped this year would not exceed 900000; and in December last year, Guo Mingyi dropped again to "less than 500000".

Gurman also assumes that Apple may sell only one headset a day per retail store, which equates to just over 180000 annual sales. TrendForce estimates fewer than 100000 units, making it Apple's lowest estimate of headphone shipments to date.
