CTOnews.com, May 25 (Xinhua)-- ahead of the launch of Google's Pixel Tablet tablet and Pixel Fold folding screen phones next month, Google is launching an update to the Recorder app to provide UI that is more suitable for large screens, according to 9to5 Google.

The previous tablet UI of Google Recorder was just the horizontal mode of the phone, and on the home screen, there are now two columns of layouts for saving recordings, while the large FAB is now located in the lower right corner rather than concentrated in the dedicated column of the button.

When viewing the recording, Google displays waveforms and text records side by side, rather than having to choose one of the two, which is similar to the web version of recorder.google.com layout, redesigned with Material You; the playback controls have been moved to the bottom corner and are now stacked side by side, with large buttons for editing and similar optimizations in the lower left corner.

Finally, the recording UI switches to the same two-column layout for waveform and text recording, as well as buttons, and the time has also been moved to the lower left corner.

Google Recorder version 4.2.20230427.530752515 (as opposed to 4.2.20230419.x) is now available through the Play Store (link attached to CTOnews.com). Since Pixel Tablet and Fold are not yet available, users can test Google recorder updates by increasing the DPI in the developer option to 600 +.

Before the upcoming tape recorder app, Google has updated more than 50 first-party apps, and applications such as Gmail (navigation bar), Google calendar and weather need to be updated.
