British Prime Minister meets with three major artificial intelligence companies, including OpenAI: CEO: will work together to ensure that AI technology benefits society

CTOnews.com, May 25 (Reuters)-British Prime Minister Sunak met with artificial intelligence leaders OpenAI, Google DeepMind and Anthropic on Wednesday to discuss how to ensure that society benefits from this transformative technology.

Sunak and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodi discussed the risks posed by artificial intelligence, involving false information, national security and survival threats, according to a statement from the Tuyuan Pexels meeting. They also discussed safety measures, voluntary actions considered by the laboratory to manage related risks, and possible avenues for international cooperation in AI safety and regulation.

The CTOnews.com noted that the UK said in March that it would assign regulatory responsibility for artificial intelligence to existing regulators such as human rights, health and safety and competition, rather than creating a new body dedicated to the technology.
