CTOnews.com, May 27 / PRNewswire-Asianet /-- Twitter recently launched a new API interface service, called Twitter API Pro, for startups, which charges $5000 a month (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 35350 yuan).

▲ source: according to TwitterTwitter, the API-level package allows developers to get 1 million tweets per month and post 300000 tweets per month, and gives them access to the full archive search endpoint. Earlier, Twitter announced that the API interface would no longer be available free of charge from February 9, and then launched three different API services, which are free, basic and enterprise. The basic service costs $100 a month (currently about RMB707), and the Enterprise version costs $42000 (currently about RMB297000).

After taking the helm of Twitter, Musk formulated a series of controversial policies to vigorously promote Twitter Blue subscription services. CTOnews.com has previously reported that scholars protested that all previous data would be deleted if they chose not to spend $42000 a month (currently about 297000 yuan) and not to use a dedicated Twitter API to access data. Filippo Menczer, director of the social media observation program at Indiana University, points out that this is a devastating blow to programs that study hate speech on social media. Some anonymous scientists said that blocking access by Twitter is tantamount to big data's "book burning." Observers believe that the API Pro interface service launched by Twitter is a response to critics who have previously criticized that the enterprise version of API interface is too expensive.
