Framework's new 16-inch modular notebook uses BOE semi-custom screen: 2.5K 165Hz
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, May 27 (Xinhua)-- modular notebook manufacturer Framework will launch a 16-inch Laptop 16 large screen model later this year, with graphics cards, storage, screens, keyboards and other parts that can be replaced by individual users.
According to the latest official news, the laptop uses BOE's semi-custom screen.
Officials say they want to ensure that the screen is ideal for games, content creation and general productivity, while at the same time lightweight, energy-efficient and cost-effective. Since there are no ready-made panels to meet all these requirements, Framework has developed a semi-custom LCD display module with customized backlight for higher brightness and better contrast and color gamut.
CTOnews.com organizes the panel parameters as follows:
The Framework Laptop 16's display panel features 2560x1600 resolution, 100% DCI-P3 gamut, variable refresh rate up to 165Hz, 1500 DCI-P3 1 contrast, and 500 Nitte brightness. The display module can also be replaced by itself.
Officials say the Framework Laptop 16 is expected to be released this summer, after which bookings will begin.
