It was revealed that the Model 3 production line of Tesla's Shanghai factory had been shut down, hinting that the modified model was coming.

CTOnews.com, May 28 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- Wu Wa, a netizen who has been following the development of Tesla's Shanghai super factory in China, recently found that the factory's Model 3 production line seems to have been suspended. Videos taken by his drones show that the Shanghai superfactory is still busy, but most of the activity is concentrated in the Model Y area, while the Model 3 area is unusually quiet.

Tesla China is nearing the final stage of trial production of the new Model 3, Bloomberg reported earlier this month. The report also pointed out that in order to adapt to the adjustment of the production line of the new model, the production line of the Model 3 may be shut down for a few days at the end of May. Wu Wa's latest findings confirm Bloomberg's previous news.

This means that Tesla China may be making a major update for Model 3, which may be related to the previously rumored "Project Highland". Project Highland, a high-profile project by Tesla, is expected to make a series of important improvements to Model 3, from the production process to the appearance and interior of the vehicle. The appearance update is important, as it has been more than seven years since its debut as a prototype car in 2016, the Model 3 has barely changed, and the interior update should also be welcomed by consumers.

It is not clear when the new revamped Model 3 will be officially released and delivered, but it is safe to guess that Tesla's Shanghai Super Factory in China is preparing for this, and CTOnews.com will keep an eye on it.
