Google YouTube Announces termination of "Stories" Service on June 26
CTOnews.com May 29, Google YouTube announced that the YouTube Stories service will be suspended from June 26. YouTube Stories is a feature that allows YouTube users to post short videos or photo slides on mobile clients, and the content is automatically deleted after 24 hours.
YouTube said that all YouTube Stories shared on June 26 will expire in 7 days, and the accompanying community post indicates that YouTube is deleting Stories to support YouTube Shorts and community posts.
YouTube believes that its community posts are better suited to share "lightweight updates" and discuss among followers, while Shorts provides more traffic and subscribers than Stories.
CTOnews.com Note: YouTube Stories was first launched as Reels in 2017 and changed its name to Stories a year later.
