On May 29, ARK Invest analyst Sam Korus predicted that Cybertruck all-electric pickup trucks could become mainstream like Tesla Model Y, based on early data from Google Trends.

Since its launch, Cybertruck has been delayed many times due to many modifications and related supply chain problems. The car was scheduled to go on sale at the end of 2021, but at Tesla's annual shareholders' meeting in August 2022, Mr Musk confirmed that it would be available in 2023.

Initially, Tesla planned to start mass production of Cybertruck by the end of 2021. But at the end of January, Musk said on an earnings call in the fourth quarter of 2022 that he would start limited production of Cybertruck this summer. He also pointed out that Cybertruck will begin mass production in 2024, later than previously expected at the end of 2023.

On April 19 this year, Tesla said in his first-quarter results that he would continue to start production of Cybertruck in Texas superfactories later this year as planned, and continue to make progress on the next-generation car platform.

On the same day, Musk said that Cybertruck delivery events would be held in the third quarter of 2023. Musk did not give an exact delivery date, but he later said that Cybertruck delivery activities should be "around the end of the third quarter", that is, the end of September.

Cybertruck has been favored by many consumers because of its unique shape and superior performance. At the last shareholder meeting, Mr Musk estimated that the company could sell between 250000 and 500000 Cybertruck a year.
