CTOnews.com May 30 news, Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y and other models have been praised for their many automated features, but the automatic wiper function is not satisfactory. Tesla introduced automatic wipers for its vehicles equipped with Autopilot 2 hardware in early 2018, but this feature has not been perfect, and many posts complaining about Tesla automatic wipers can still be seen on social media platforms.

Tesla owners and FSD Beta tester @TesLatino recently retweeted a video of another Tesla owner calling the automatic wiper feature "stupid and quite annoying." The Tesla owner's harsh comments were also understandable, as the video showed the vehicle activating the automatic wipers on a clear day, and the netizen then asked Musk if he could at least allow the owner to disable the automatic wipers when Autopilot or FSD were enabled.

Musk responded to the request and apologized for the poor performance of the feature. Musk explained that Auto Wiper was one of the last neural networks to upgrade to surround video (from single camera, single frame), so future updates should see improvements to that feature.

CTOnews.com notes that Tesla owners have also made some suggestions to improve the automatic wiper function. In addition to allowing drivers to disable the function when Autopilot or FSD is enabled, Tesla can also provide an option so that the left control wheel on the steering wheel can directly control the wiper.
