CTOnews.com June 1 news, according to foreign technology media Wired report, network security experts from Eclypsium found that 271 models sold by Gigatech, millions of motherboards have security vulnerabilities.

The researchers found a mechanism in the firmware of these motherboards that could trigger hidden updates. Eclypsium believes that attackers can use this mechanism to install malicious programs without the user's knowledge, and it is difficult to detect and remove them later.

Eclypsium experts found that in addition to this vulnerability, they also found that there is an obvious vulnerability in Giga's motherboard firmware update mechanism. The firmware code can be downloaded without proper authentication and sometimes via HTTP connections, making it vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks.

Eclypsium has worked with Giga to resolve these issues, and Giga has expressed interest in resolving them, although Eclypsium will not be able to cure them in the next few years.
