Worry comes true: a 25-year-old copywriter is fired because of ChatGPT

CTOnews.com June 3 news, according to the Washington Post reported that the generative AI represented by ChatGPT has swept the world, and the unemployment concerns raised before have become a reality.

The report takes Olivia Lipkin, a 25-year-old female employee, as a perspective to explore the impact of this AI wave on employee career development and the subsequent development of unemployed groups.

Lipkin, 25, works as a copywriter for a tech startup. After OpenAI launched ChatGPT last November, Lipkin didn't have much of an impact.

Over the next few months, however, company managers referred to her as Olivia / ChatGPT on Slack, and she was officially fired by the company in April.

Lipkin didn't get a reason for the firings from the company, but she found that managers had been writing articles about it, with the main argument that ChatGPT was cheaper than hiring full-time copywriters, which she believed was the main reason.
