CTOnews.com, June 2, according to Mashdigi, David McAfee, president of AMD consumer business, said at Computex 2023 Taipei International computer Show that the processor integrated with AI engine was designed in cooperation with Microsoft and will not affect software compatibility.

According to the report, McAfee told reporters after the meeting that the Ruilong 7040U series processor with built-in AI engine was designed in deep cooperation with Microsoft. Intel will adopt the same cooperation model and add VPU units to the new generation of processors.

McAfee pointed out that under the artificial intelligence computing framework provided by Microsoft, the software can be compiled to choose AMD's Ruilong AI engine or Intel VPU to accelerate computing. For developers, the software can automatically select different accelerators, so compatibility will not be affected.
