Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Xiao Zhan cut, South China Daniel Wu's clue delivery! CTOnews.com, June 4 (Xinhua)-- Apple is likely to announce a major change at next week's WWDC23 conference, removing the "hey, Siri" wake-up word currently needed to wake up the voice assistant Siri, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman. Users can activate the voice assistant simply by saying "Siri."

Gurman reiterated the news on Twitter and said the change could be one of the important announcements at next week's conference. Last November, Gurman reported that Apple was working on commands that allowed Siri to understand and respond without using "hey, Siri" as a trigger word. The difficulty with this technique is that Siri needs to be able to accurately identify the word "Siri" in different accents and dialects, and the use of two words, "Hey, Siri", can improve the likelihood that the system will correctly capture the signal.

CTOnews.com notes that the change will bring Siri closer to Amazon's voice assistant Alexa, which can be triggered simply by saying "Alexa" at the beginning of the command. Goolman also said that Apple is also working on deeper integration of Siri with third-party applications and services, using more contextual information to provide better assistance.

In addition, it is rumored that Apple's hybrid reality headset will use voice control, so improving the performance of the Siri may complement the release of the new device.
