Just as iPhone users use Face ID to verify the identity of the host, how do you verify the identity of the Vision Pro wearer? Apple's answer is that the Optic ID,Vision Pro head display has a built-in iris sensor that scans the wearer's eyeball data and matches the previously preset owner information.

Apple says Optic ID can be used to replace passwords, to automatically unlock, to make purchases on App Store, or to use Apple Pay to pay for purchases.

Apple stressed that the iris data created by Optic ID is stored in the head-displayed security exclusion zone (Secure Enclave), stored offline, and will not be open to applications.

CTOnews.com Note: Iris scanning is not a new security concept. Samsung introduced the iris login scheme on Galaxy Note 7 phones as early as possible. However, for head show, this is a relatively new solution.
