At the I / O 2023 conference in May this year, Google announced that Matter support will soon be extended to Google Home applications for iOS. 9to5google said that Matter updates to Google Home have been checked on iPhone test equipment this week and support setting up Matter devices through QR codes or written codes.

It is not entirely clear whether this is a server-side change or attached to a specific application version, but Matter support is available immediately after updating the iOS version of the Google Home application to version 3.1.

This update will make it easier to pair Nest Thermostat (CTOnews.com thermostat) with Apple Home apps via Matter, which used to require Android phones.
