CTOnews.com, June 7, a schedule held by Apple during WWDC 2023 directly mentioned how to simulate games running Win10 and Win11 on macOS, and listed "instructions and Direct3D conversion types" and other key details.

In this event, Apple will further develop the potential performance of the game and reduce the preliminary work that may take months by building a new environment on the macOS platform and introducing Metal Shader Converter and Metal debugging tools.

After an in-depth study of the developer Andrew Tsai and a review of the relevant source code, it is basically confirmed that the simulation tool is actually a modified version of Wine based on CrossOver 21.1.1.

Tsai also demonstrated the effect of simulating and running Windows games on the macOS platform, which should run under Rosetta 2 and be able to render games using DirectX 12.

CTOnews.com previously reported that ahead of the WWDC 2023 developer conference, developer company CodeWeavers announced that CrossOver would support Microsoft DirectX 12 this summer, which is good news for gamers.

CrossOver is a Windows simulator for macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS. It is based on Wine development and allows these systems to run Windows applications locally.
