CTOnews.com, June 8, Microsoft made a lot of updates to the processing of compressed files earlier this month, natively supporting compressed files such as 7-zip, rar and gz, but there was another problem with the details.

Recently, a netizen on Twitter complained that when the system language of Windows 11 was set to British English, there was a translation error when the file was compressed into zip format: "Compress to postcode file" (CTOnews.com Note: normally it should be Compress to zip file).

According to the netizen, the system he uses is not even a preview version, but an official version. "this translation is really lazy."

It is reported that in English, the word "postal code" has "zip code" (American English) and "postcode" (British English), and zip code can be referred to as zip.

In addition, the word zip has many meanings, such as zipper, vitality, nothing / nothing, and so on.

Under the comment section of this tweet, some netizens also said that they had the same problem with Windows 11.

Another netizen suspected to be from the Netherlands said that on his Xbox, "Free Space" has been translated into Dutch "gratis ruimte", which literally means "a free room or space".

This is not the first time Microsoft has made an own mistake in translation, but it may also be the "sit and relax" and "roll back to the previous version" in the simplified Chinese version of Windows 10, which is more familiar to Chinese users.
