CTOnews.com, June 8, 2008. Microsoft officially ended the life cycle of Windows 8.1 operating system on January 10 this year, that is, it no longer provides technical support and software updates. Now, software manufacturers and developers have also begun to give up support for the system, including Google.

Google Drive, Google's cloud storage service, recently announced on its support page that it will officially end its desktop application support for Win 8 and Win 8.1 operating systems from August this year. Users who want to avoid service interruption should consider upgrading to Windows 10 as soon as possible.

Google said that desktop applications can keep all users' local folders in sync with the cloud, and users who want to maintain real-time synchronization will have to update the system.

In addition, Google Drive will stop supporting all 32-bit Windows systems in the second half of this year, including the 32-bit Windows 10 system.

CTOnews.com previously reported that in February this year, Google terminated Chrome browser support for Win7, Win8 and Win8.1, and Google is expected to end support for these older systems soon.
