Sony releases firmware upgrade notice for FX6 and CineAltaV 2 cinema machines to enhance shooting performance
CTOnews.com June 9 news, Sony will launch version 4.00 for full-frame movie camera FX6 and version 2.10 firmware for 8K flagship movie camera CineAltaV 2. CineAltaV 2 will also be available in early 2024 with a more extensive firmware update for Ver.3.00. The new firmware enhances the shooting performance of the two projectors and broadens the application scenarios.

FX6 Ver.4.00: New features such as anamorphic widescreen lens anti-extrusion display and autofocus in S&Q mode; anti-extrusion display with 1.3x and 2.0x selectable modes to match the corresponding anti-extrusion ratio for HDMI output and images displayed in the viewfinder; autofocus in S&Q mode to increase autofocus to 7fps or higher in S&Q (slow and fast) mode; Support for Cine EI Quick enables FX6 to have the same production workflow as FX30 and FX3 movie cameras.
CineAltaV 2 Ver.2.10: Optimized settings for sensor mode menu. When the sensor mode is 3:2 aspect ratio, under the menu of "Zoom to appropriate size", a new option of 2.39:1 is added,
CineAltaV 2 Ver.3.00: Support new import/export function of external frame line generator tool, improve high frame rate mode, which can shoot at 90 fps with 2x anamorphic lens; add new 33.333 variable frame rate to realize anti-flicker function at 50Hz; support for improving color fidelity of in-camera movie effects when mixing standard light and LED volume; Improved drawing menu and RM / RCP controls to support settings adjustments for saturation, skin detail, white balance, shutter, etc.; support for 3D-LUT selection when RCP / RM drawing controls are on.
