Foxconn's Vietnam plant is limited by electricity, and it is reported that it will build its own power plant next year.
CTOnews.com, June 10, according to the Wall Street Journal, due to unusually high temperatures, surging electricity consumption, falling water levels of hydropower stations and many other factors, Vietnam announced a rotational power outage plan, affecting the production capacity of Samsung, Foxconn, Canon and Lixun plants.
According to Tuyuan WikiMedia, the above-mentioned factories are mainly located in Pak Ning Province and Bei Jiang Province in northern Vietnam, and there have been power outages in at least five industrial zones since the morning of June 5.
Foxconn, which has plants in Beining and Beijiang provinces, including Samsung Electronics, Foxconn, Goyle Acoustics and AAC Technology, has received power cuts from Vietnam Electric Power Company to either adjust the start time or reduce the use of peak hours.
CTOnews.com quoted the Wall Street Journal as saying that the power cuts will have an impact on Foxconn, but will still be able to maintain normal operations. Foxconn plans to build its own power plant in 2024, the source said.
