The message says that AMD Desktop Ryzen 8000 APU only comes with Zen 5 core.
CTOnews.com June 10, the AM5 platform roadmap shared by AMD a few days ago confirmed that the Ruilong 8000 series desktop processors will adopt the Zen 5 CPU and Navi 3.5 GPU architecture, and will confirm that the Zen 5 CPU will be supported until at least 2026.
According to the relevant information shared by Moore's Law Is Dead, there are two types of SKU,CTOnews.com in the next generation of APU chips with the AMD code "Strix Point" attached as follows:
Up to 12 Zen 5amp 5c cores, 16 Compute Units RDNA 3 + iGPU
Up to 16 Zen 5 cores, 40 Compute Units RDNA 3.5 iGPU
MLID said that the Strix Point APU is based on a 4-nanometer process, the chip size is "more than 200 mm2" and the packaging cost is comparable to that of the "Granite Ridge" desktop Zen 5 CPU.
MLID said that AM5 Strix Point APU has no cost advantage over desktop Zen 5 CPU, and the key selling point of desktop Ryzen 8000 Strix Point is likely to be iGPU.
The message also said that the Zen 5c core will degrade the game performance due to TDP restrictions, so the desktop Ryzen 8000 APU contains only the Zen 5 core.
