All government departments in the Japanese capital Tokyo will fully introduce generative AI from August.

CTOnews.com, June 13, according to Japan's Sankei Shimbun, Tokyo Governor Koike Yuriko announced today that all government departments in Tokyo will introduce generative AI represented by ChatGPT, and the plan will be fully implemented from August.

▲ Tu Yuan Pexels Koike Yuriko confirmed the news at a regular meeting of the Tokyo Metropolitan Council today, saying: "while assessing the positive and negative impact of innovative technology, we will promote its application in all administrative fields and use it to achieve better governance results."

In April this year, the Tokyo metropolitan government set up a special project team to cope with the rapid development of generative AI around the world. Koike Yuriko stressed that the Tokyo metropolitan government has been studying the problems that may be encountered when introducing generative AI into daily work and the specific rules for its use.

Koike Yuriko also revealed that the Tokyo metropolitan government is developing specific implementation guidelines, one of which is to create customized document query and question-and-answer services for visitors.
